I'm Irene Cheruto Chemelei a teacher by Profession and a Passionate Gender Advocate who works to eliminate FGM ,Child marriage and other forms of Gender Based Violence that are of high prevalence in the County.
As a Frontline Activist,and founding member of I-REP Foundation,i work in the hard-to- reach areas of West Pokot to enhance rescue of girls and women with the help of local administration.
As a certified Mentor, i conduct mentorship programmes through schools to ensure boys and girls are well informed on Matters FGM, Education, SRHR.
I coordinate and facilitate community engagements such as Intergenerational Dialogues and ensure interventions through Anti-FGM surveilance groups are implemented.
